Message from the President

Welcome to the website of Unihealth Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center (USHMC) !

The USHMC is committed to provide competent and compassionate care to our patients and communities. This resolve requires the concerted and dedicated efforts of the management, the board of directors, officers and staff to look beyond what it has accomplished before, identify future programs and projects to continually improve and upgrade healthcare services.

Following are its key projects and plans:

  • Relocate the entire Laboratory Department to and establish a Blood Bank  at the newly constructed 3 storey building.
  • Transfer Cashier, Billing and Philhealth Sections to the Laboratory’s vacated area .
  • Expand the Emergency Room towards the area vacated by Cashier, Billing and Philhealth Sections.
  • Equip and operate the Women’s Health Center.
  • Pursue and strengthen the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. This shall inspire the other clinical departments – Departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery to set up their own respective training programs.
  • Increase the number of dialysis chairs from 24 to 37.
  • Establish a Stroke Center.
  • Expand Cath Lab services.
  • Purchase the adjoining lot.
  • Continue staff upskilling through seminars and trainings.

With God’s help we pray to continuously align in our efforts, to invest in our staff, infrastructure and medical technologies for our patients’ treatments and care, benefit and healing.

The Unihealth Philosophy

United in Paving the Way to Better Health

4 Pillars United in Health

The Unihealth logo is built around the concept of the Four Pillars comprising USHMC family namely: Founders/Stockholders, Doctors/Employees, Patients/Clients, and Other Stakeholders (including Suppliers, Partners, and Outsource Providers). These four pillars come together to form a “U” shape, creating a continuous, uninterrupted loop that symbolizes unity, collaboration, and the flow of open communication and feedback. This design reflects the core values of team spirit, equality, and inclusiveness among all involved parties.

The blue color in the logo represents openness, imagination, inspiration, and innovation, conveying a forward-looking and creative approach in all its endeavors. The “Open U” at the top highlights Unihealth’s sensitivity to the environment, the community, industry trends, and external ideas. The red color embodies life, vigor, courage, fervor, and passion, emphasizing the energy and dedication of the organization. The white cross and Asclepius symbol signify health, healing, and service, underlining Unihealth’s commitment to providing high-quality medical care.

The tagline, “Leading you to better health” paired with the logo, encapsulates the overarching vision of Unihealth Southwoods Hospital and Medical Center (USHMC). It represents the essence of Unihealth’s purpose—why we exist, why we work, and what we stand for. It reflects our beliefs, passion, and the shared commitment of all those working within USHMC. The tagline serves as a constant reminder of our mission and is integrated into every aspect of communication, both internally and externally. It is simple, memorable, and guides our actions and interactions with clients, helping us live out our values in everyday encounters.
