What is a CathLab?

A CathLab is a specialized facility where minimally invasive procedures can be performed to diagnose and treat different heart and blood vessel conditions without needing to perform traditional treatments that require open-heart surgery or similar major surgeries.

SERVICES OFFERED

Coronary Angiogram

This specialized Xray procedure uses contrast dye to make the arteries that supply blood to your heart, more visible. This helps detect any blockages or narrowing that affect blood flow.

Cerebral Angiogram

To check the arteries and blood flow to your brain, this diagnostic imaging test uses dye to make them more visible under Xray. It helps detect aneurysms, blockages, narrowing, or other vascular issues.

Renal Angiogram

This Xray procedure focuses on the arteries that supply blood flow to your kidneys. By using contrast dye, it shows any narrowing or blockages that may affect your kidney function.

Peripheral Angiogram

This is an Xray procedure that uses dye to map out and show the blood vessels outside of the heart. This could include blood vessels in the arms or legs to detect any blockages or narrowing that affect blood circulation.

Coronary Angioplasty

This interventional procedure directly treats blocked or narrowed arteries in your heart. Using a catheter, a tiny balloon is inflated to widen the artery, push buildup aside, and a stent is placed to keep it open.

Peripheral Angioplasty

Designed to improve blood circulation in your arms or legs, this procedure uses a catheter to insert a tiny balloon into a blocked artery and expand it to open the blockages. A stent is then inserted to maintain the widened pathway and improve blood flow.

Transarterial Chemoembolization

This minimally invasive procedure delivers cancer-fighting drugs and substances directly onto a tumor (usually in the liver) that block its blood supply.

Percutaneous Transhepatic Biliary Drainage (PTBD):

This procedure involves inserting a catheter through your skin, to the liver, and into the bile duct to drain bile from a blocked bile duct.

Pacemaker Insertion

A minor surgical procedure, this treatment implants a small device under your skin with wires leading to the heart. This device emits electric signals that help regulate slow or irregular heart rhythm.

Coiling

Often performed for aneurysms, this procedure inserts small platinum coils via catheter into an aneurysm to promote clotting and prevent rupture.
